Ten of the best retreat locations

Do you need help looking for the best retreat locations? All business and retreat objectives are of course different, but one of the key things to get right is the venue.  The venue requirements will be developed alongside your agenda with considerations like do you want your guests to be in one ‘house’, what activities are central to your retreat – Yoga, Spa, by the sea, in the mountains. You can check out our blog post on planning your 1st retreat to make sure you don’t forget anything.

Here are our top ten suggestions for the best retreat locations.

Royal Palms, Marrakech

With private villas and suites available you can choose how much privacy you require from your retreat. The facilities are amazing at this hotel located just outside Marrakech and the wellness centre boasts spa and exercise classes galore. If needed the kids club is simply amazing. Your guests can relax by the pool or even head into the Atlas Mountains or the chaos of the Marrakech Medina. There is something for everyone here.

The Lakes by Yoo

There is one thing for sure I am going to run a retreat at this location one day. If you based in the UK you may have seen this amazing lodges on the X Factor last season. Quite simply stunning setting the core of the concept is that the The Lakes is primarily a luxury, gated community of family homes, designed for peace and relaxation. Spa and onsite wellness in a stunning location check back soon for our very first retreat to be hosted here.

Astra Suites, Santorini

Perched atop the most stunning volcanic cliffs of Santorini, resembling a quaint Cycladic village, Astra Suites is now listed in the Top 25 Hotels of the World, as chosen by TripAdvisor members. The Architects house offers a 3-bedroom, 2-bath cliff side paradise with a swimming pool and an outdoor Jacuzzi to hold a completely private retreat, and with the fantastic climate this this the ideal location for an intimate retreat.

Limewood

With forest cottages, lodges and cabins alongside its own herb garden, and a location deep in the New Forest Limewood is the perfect location for a retreat. With spa, cooking classes and fantastic meeting spaces to work in your can offer your guests plenty of downtime in the surroundings of a boutique luxury hotel.

Portetta, Courcheval French Alps

For a winter retreat check out Portetta in Courcheval French Alps. Its mountainside location is perfect for retreats, and with private loft spaces, your retreat clients can sit round the cosy open fire with a glass of Red or hot chocolate.  Pack your cosy socks and jumpers and enjoy the mountain air for the ultimate in a getaway retreat.

Hotel Esplendido, Soller, Mallorca

Im a little reluctant to include this one as its kinda one of my secret hideaways.  Swedish owned and run the Esplendido in the Northern town of Soller is a haven of relaxation. The spa is fantastic and the rooftop pool overlooks the bay. This is a getaway from it all space and I visit year after year if I can ( and always have too much Spanish brandy)

Viceroy, Bali

No list of retreat locations would be complete without a property in Bali. For the ultimate in relaxation head to the hills of Ubud. Pool side  4 bedroom villas,  view of the paddy fields from the Infinity Pool and early morning sun salutations on the Yoga deck, you can’t find a better location for a retreat.  You wont want to come back!

Sanderling Resort, North Carolina

One of my favourite places in the USA, and the outer bank beaches of North Carolina are simply stunning. The Sanderling offers a choice of suites or the hire of a complete home for a fully hosted all inclusive retreat, full service spa all with beach views. Start your morning with Yoga on the observation deck and then check out the adventure concierge for some ideas on how to spend downtime. Trust me..the sea air of the outer banks will make for a super productive retreat.
